Lindy’s idea for Ena was born far away in Machu Picchu, as she sat at the Sun Gate watching the clouds part to reveal the ancient Incan ruins. It was a turning point in her life where she felt incredible calm and her vision was clear. She would leave her old life behind in television and advertising and study massage therapy. Lindy’s nature is one of a nurturer. One who truly cares about people and the world we live in. It was a perfect fit.
After many years Lindy learnt from respected teachers how to create her creams, lotions and balms from natural, high quality botanicals. They were a perfect compliment for the authentic life she was now living. So popular were these products that Lindy decided to start her own line of all natural body care products. Ena, named after her Grandmother Ena, was born. In 2015 she tested the market at a little pop up shop here in Melbourne. It was a resounding success. Ena is gaining popularity around the world, being used in the guest rooms in boutique hotels and restaurants as far away as Paris and the US, and homewares stores, restaurants and retreats back home in Australia.
Beautiful design was a priority for Lindy when she briefed her design team. Her initial research in the industry presented packaging as paired back and plain. Lindy wanted to inject personality, colour and style to her range. One that reflected her sense of fun and casual Australian style. What the designers came up with was uniquely Australian, with a nod to the Australian landscape. While stemming from the colour palette of the land, it goes with every bathroom and kitchen from fresh white to the bold and impactful. Customers have described the packaging as “next level”. You’ll notice Ena’s competitors are starting to inject colour into their packaging now too!
Lindy runs her business with her heart. She’s not competitive by nature, preferring to listen to her inner voice. This is what drives her. Her Mum, Beth (who’s middle name was also Ena) raised four children on her own, but was able to build a very successful sportswear label. She was gentle, kind and a wonderful mother. The youngest child of her family, Lindy is inspired by the strength and resilience that her mother showed. Lindy hopes to pass this on to her own daughter.
There are big plans for Ena, now it’s 4th year. Lindy plans to keep adding to the range, but insists on high quality products that use botanicals that are as close to nature as possible. It’s with this in mind that each product is meticulously tested and considered.
